Good afternoon, friends!
Hope ya'll are doing well, staying healthy, and remaining in good spirits....it seems with the constant bombardment of not-so-good news these days, it's a bit challenging for everyone to do I know. One thing that surely uplifted us was witnessing the outpouring of support we received last week for our first round of curbside order pickups. It's not just the financial support that results in us being able to keep our lights on and ovens running, but also our staff being able to remain employed and continuing to do what they love. In times like these where everyone is filled with fear and uncertainty, I think it's the feeling of purpose and normalcy that we crave. Whether that is to just get up and go to work as usual; being able to go enjoy a delicious treat from your favorite place; or just being able to be close to each other. For now, all we can do is to do the best we can under the circumstances.
We were asked many times by many folks last week whether we will continue to do pre-order/curbside pickups. I just want to assure everyone that the governor's "shelter-in-place" mandate announced past Friday doesn't affect essential businesses - businesses like ours that are providing food and grocery items. We discussed as a team whether we should keep going and the consensus was that we should as long as it's safe to do so. In order to ensure this, we are making some minor changes to the production and pickup service process - PLEASE READ THEM HERE. The key changes are that the pickup days have now switched to Thursday and Saturday, which allows us to be able to get all the work done without being crammed in together, and that we will not be allowing anyone at all into the shop.
Here is the ordering information for this week:
DEADLINE to place Thursday orders will be 9am WEDNESDAY
DEADLINE to place Saturday orders will be 9am FRIDAY
BOTH THURSDAY & SATURDAY pickup times will be from 9am-1pm
We will continue to reevaluate offering these services on a weekly basis depending on what the state of IL and the health department determine what food-service businesses can and should be doing. In the event of a sudden need to close down fully, we will refund everyone's purchases before cancelling pickup plans.
On the menu this week, you'll find that beside some of our most popular bread and pastry flavors, we added to-go biscuits & gravy. B&G's are one of the things we miss most about our Saturday breakfasts and it seemed like a good comfort food option to add right now. As with everything else, we make our buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy from scratch - all you gotta do is take it home, heat it up, and enjoy it. Go check out what else will be available - here is the link to our website where you can find the menu:
Again, please don't hesitate reaching out with any questions - I will get back to you with answers as soon as I can. Thank you!!!
Thinking of you,
Jojo
