Earlier this month, I celebrated my 35th birthday...it was a Monday so I had taken the day off from the bakery and, for most of that morning which felt like forever, I scoured through my old photos to see if I could find any pictures of myself from the summer of 2010. All the cool internet kids were doing this "10 Year Challenge" thing where they compare photos of themselves a decade apart and I wanted to do one too!
You see, it was that summer a decade before that I started Crust & Crumbles at the outdoor Rockford City Market...I was 25 years old. And considering the most significant event in my life this past year was taking our farmer's market booth into the retail bakeshop that you all have come to know and love...well that was quite the 10 year challenge that I wanted to celebrate and share through old pictures. Unfortunately I didn't find any in case you're wondering why I didn't include it in this newsletter :(
When you think about it, ten years is a very looong time even though it doesn't feel like it. So many people have given so much over these years to help make this dream come true and provided so much support, love, dedication, care, and commitment into helping Crust & Crumbles grow into what it is today. I am filled with immense gratitude for every single one of you - for your patronage, for your continued support of our work, and for allowing us to serve our community in the best way that we know how. The adventure has just begun and we can't wait to see where this next decade takes us!
For this coming New Year and all the years to come, I wish you and yours abundant health, love, luck, and prosperity. I wish that whatever journey you are on, you get to exactly where you want to be.
Cheers,
Jojo
